ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Phil Gille tackles the tough issues head on.
- He designed and implemented the plan that ended Westchester County's use of motels and hotels for homeless families, improving conditions for women and children and saving taxpayers millions.
- Phil drafted county laws to protect the environment, designating critical environmental areas (adopted 1989) and establishing an environmental code of conduct (1993).
- He designed fiscal policies that froze the county property tax levy for three years, and held tax increases to an average one percent a year over six years (1991-1997).
- Phil's talents and passion for public service have been put to good use by the City of Yonkers since 1999. He has worked with Council members from both parties to help draft a stricter rewrite of the Code of Ethics; to craft proposals to restrict the residency and movements of sex offenders; and to resolve tenant concerns.
FAMILY
Phil is a proud 35-year resident of the Ludlow Park neighborhood.
Phil takes his family responsibilities especially seriously. He is the primary caregiver for his mom, Gisele, 82, and proud uncle to Max, 9, Luke, 6, and Delphine, 2 1/2. His sister Isabelle and brother-in-law Robert can count on him to help with the kids.
